Innovation means development, and innovation means the future. The municipal government held the Nantong innovation and development forenoon on April 1st morning, thoroughly implemented the spirit of the fifth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee and inspected General Secretary Xi Jinping's inspection of Jiangsu's important speech, conscientiously implemented the central and provincial governments' decision making arrangements for innovation and development, and comprehensively arranged the "14th Five-Year" technological innovation and development along the Yangtze River and the construction of the Nantong along the Yangtze River to accelerate the construction of higher level innovation city.

     Xuhuimin, Secretary of the municipal Party committee and director of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress, delivered a passionate speech. Wang Hui, deputy secretary of the municipal Party committee and mayor, deployed the scientific and technological innovation work of the city. Huang Weidong, chairman of the CPPCC, and the four leaders from the four groups, including the executive vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress and the Deputy Secretary of the Party group, Zhuang Zhongqiu, attended the meeting. Shenlei, deputy secretary of the municipal Party committee, presided over the meeting.

     At the meeting, the winners of national science and Technology Progress Award and provincial science and Technology Award in 2019, provincial science and Technology Award and enterprise innovation award in 2020, and the 21st China Patent Excellence Award Nantong City were announced.

     The conference was held in the form of video, and each county (city, district) set up branch venues. Representatives of national science and Technology Progress Award and provincial science and technology award, representatives of high-tech enterprises, enterprises above Designated Size, excellent science and technology innovation enterprises and science and technology service institutions, representatives of outstanding talents and foreign experts working in Tongtong were invited to attend the meeting at the main venue.
